| Great Smoky Mountains
National Park |
Cades
Cove is the most visited feature of the Park. Millions of
visitors annually flock to Cades Cove to see the preserved
pioneer homesteads, the blue-misted mountains which serve
as a backdrop to the cove, and the abundant wildlife which
now populate the area. To facilitate visitors, the Park
provides a self-guided tour book at the cove's entrance.
The 11-mile loop road takes approximately 45 minutes to
complete casually from your vehicle. A more detailed look
at the homesteads, some of which require brief hikes, can
take several hours. Or you can make an entire day of Cades
Cove if you stop at the Cable Mill area visitor center and
include a 5-mile (round trip) hike to Abrams Falls.

ideas and acquired roofing slates, carved doors, trim
moldings, antique gas lighting fixtures, and handmade
bricks to create a wonderful Alpine mood that is a delight
to explore. Located near traffic light #6 beside the

Aquarium |

Ripley’s®
Aquarium of the Smokies is literally teaming with
life – our 10,000 exotic sea creatures comprise
more than 350 individual species. There are more
fish in this aquarium than there are people living
in the entire town of Gatlinburg. Although Ripley’s
Aquarium of the Smokies is hundreds of miles from
the ocean, the scenic beauty and the abundance of
water all around make the town of Gatlinburg a “natural”
location for a world-class aquarium, America’s
most fun aquarium.
